Phil Foden

Philip Walter Foden (born 28 May 2000) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Manchester City, Ronnie, his one-year-old son, was born in January 2019, meaning away from football, Foden is now more of a doting dad than a catcher of carp. Foden is a rare breed of English footballer who is completely at ease in the heart of midfield in Gareth Southgate’s team. His exceptional first touch, close control, balance, and poise on the ball combine to make him look more like a modern Spanish midfielder than a Stockport, England, native.
Trent Alexander Arnold

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been named to England coach Gareth Southgate’s squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Alexander-Arnold, 24, has 17 England caps but was forced to miss last summer’s European Championship due to injury. The right-back is an important player for Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, but he has found international opportunities harder to come by under Southgate.
Bukayo Ayoyinka Saka

Saka has five goals and four assists in 14 appearances so far this season and four of those strikes have come in the past few weeks. The England international has been a constant livewire down the right-hand side, with his ability to challenge the defender on both the outside and the inside key to unlocking defences. The left-footed Saka usually plays on the right side of the attacking midfield.
Jack Peter Grealish

Grealish is arguably England’s most valuable asset. Grealish’s ability to manipulate the ball into spaces where he can attack the opposing defense after receiving it makes him a dangerous asset for England in this World Cup.
Harry Kane

The Three Lions captain has scored one goal per World Cup game. The Tottenham talisman only needs two goals in an England shirt to equal Wayne Rooney’s all-time record of 53 goals.
Kane is a good all-around player who can play as a striker or in central midfield. Referees will be on the lookout for his proclivity to back into defenders leaping for a ball in the box, often sending the defender to the ground.
