The 23-year-old France wonder made his remarks after PSG defeated Marseille 1-0, with him helping Neymar score the game’s lone goal as his team went out to a three-point lead in Ligue 1.
“I am very happy. I have never asked to leave in January,” he said while insisting that he was not “implicated directly or indirectly” in the rumours about his future.
“Some people might think I was involved in this, but I was not at all. I was as shocked as anyone else … I just wanted to say that it’s completely untrue.”
This summer, Mbappé came very close to signing for Real Madrid on a free transfer, but he ultimately decided to stay at PSG for two more years with an option for one more.
Mbappé moved to Paris Saint-Germain from Monaco in 2017 while still a teen. He has frequently stated that he always wanted to play for Real Madrid. The Frenchman did not completely rule out making the transfer when he signed his agreement.
